In 2008, Tamarindo was missing a place where locals and tourists alike could gather to watch games and have a cold beer. The answer to that problem was Sharky’s – founded as Tamarindo’s one and only true sports bar.
2010 – THE FIRE
In 2010, a terrible fire destroyed the original Sharky’s and two of the neighboring businesses. It was a tough time, but later that year, with the help of an amazing group of friends, customers and supporters, Sharky’s was rebuilt.
TODAY
Today, Sharky’s is going stronger than ever. The bar has now grown in size to include the large open-air backyard, “The Garden, ” as well as an additional indoor dining and party area. 2019 saw a huge expansion and revamp for the kitchen and the menu in turn. With so much growth and expansion happening inside our little bar, we’re shifting our focus out more to our community. Since 2017, our goal has been to utilize the majority of our profits to better our surrounding community. Our Profits with Purpose initiative is now up to a goal of 90%. Read more about it here.
